With over 1,000 dedicated R&D employees , you can calculate the number of projects we are developing by the number of employees that we have. RIM is constantly pushing the frontiers of mobile communications. Our technical environment consists of working with UMTS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, iDEN and CDMA/1xRTT/EV-DO. Engineers at RIM receive ongoing training and certifications on the latest technologies, enabling them to constantly upgrade their skills and always stay one step ahead.

Engineering @ RIM is supported by the services of the Program and Project Management teams, which serve as a liaison and coordinate the efforts of RIM’s software and hardware engineering teams. Engineering is also supported by Standards and Licensing, which manages regulations impacting our networks, conducts research and makes recommendations on technologies.
