Process and Timelines

Co-op Students

Recruitment for all Co-op students begins four months before the start of each work-term. Interviews are typically conducted at a local RIM office, or by phone. Before the interview you will have the opportunity to meet with us at information sessions, career fairs and conferences at various campuses across Canada. Check out our campus events calendar, and be sure to come see us when we are in your neighborhood.

Students who dedicate time to learn about who we are excite us the most, and are usually successful. Please note that preference is given to those students who are already registered in a recognized Co-op program.

When you choose to apply to RIM, we will ask that you review the job descriptions and select a maximum of 10 positions that best fit your skills and qualifications. RIM works closely with the Co-op office’s set deadlines. Please be aware that application deadlines change every term.

You may learn more about our interview scheduling, offer presenting and other helpful details through your school’s Co-op office. You may receive less than 24 hours notice when you are scheduled for an interview with a RIM Hiring Manager, as we interview many students over a concentrated 2-3 week period. We are conscientious about communicating results and status to applicants as the process moves forward; however, due to the number of positions and number of applicants, it may be several weeks before being contacted by a RIM representative on the status of your application.

Intern Students

RIM hires many Internship students from across Canada for 12 to 16 month work placements. The majority of our Internship positions begin in May, and recruitment for these placements starts the previous winter, beginning with career fairs. Visit our campus event calendar to see when we will be at your school.

RIM follows the recruitment guidelines and deadlines of the Canadian Association for Internship Programs (CAFIP). Preference is given to those Internship students who are already registered in a recognized Internship program at their institution.

As an intern candidate, we ask that you review the job descriptions and apply to a maximum of 10 positions that best fit your skills and qualifications. The application deadline for these positions is usually in January. Interviews for successful candidates will be held in late January to early March, and will be conducted by the RIM hiring manager. We communicate to you regarding interview scheduling, rankings, offers and more through your campus Internship office. We are conscientious about communicating results and status to applicants as the process moves forward.
