Eligibility Criteria

Donation requests will only be considered if the applicant is a registered charity or incorporated not-for-profit organization.

RIM will not consider the following types of applications:

• Organizations without registered charitable or not-for-profit status
• Individuals
• Political parties and advocacy groups
• Religious groups
• Private schools
• Third parties raising funds for charity

How to Apply

All of RIM’s corporate philanthropy contributions are evaluated via an online application process. Please complete the RIM Corporate Philanthropy Application Form to provide information about your organization, your government-registered charitable or not-for-profit number, the purpose or goal of the funding and contact information. Each application will be assessed as quickly as possible.

All organizations requesting donations from RIM should review our Corporate Philanthropy Eligibility Criteria to determine if their project and/or organization are a good fit for the focus of RIM’s program.

Due to the number of requests received, RIM can only respond to successful funding requests.

FAQ

How long does it take to process a donation request?

We recommend that you allow a minimum of six weeks between submission of the online request and the date funding is required.

Does RIM donate BlackBerry smartphones or subsidize the purchase of devices?

Generally, RIM does not donate products or subsidize their purchase for charitable or not-for-profit organizations.

Is my organization eligible for a donation?

Please see RIM’s Corporate Philanthropy Eligibility Criteria for guidelines regarding funding eligibility criteria.

When will I receive a response from RIM regarding my funding proposal?

Due to the volume of requests received, we are only able to respond to those requests we plan to pursue. If we are able to fund your request, you will receive a response within approximately six weeks of your proposal submission.
