Motient Announces Commercial Deployment of BlackBerry Running on the Motient Network

BlackBerry By Motient Expands The Range of Potential Network Applications

Reston, VA - Motient Corporation, (NASDAQ: MTNT) announced today general availability of BlackBerry™ by Motient. The first users of BlackBerry on the Motient network include a number of leading money center investment and financial firms.

BlackBerry is a popular wireless email solution that was developed by Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM) and is being provided on the Motient network under license from RIM. RIM also is a manufacturer of wireless handheld devices including the units used by Motient in providing the eLinkSM branded service.

BlackBerry by Motient (Exchange Edition) is specifically designed for large corporate accounts operating in a Microsoft Exchange environment. The BlackBerry solution offers the most advanced encryption features, providing the degree of security often required by customers such as financial institutions and brokerage houses.
