MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - Xora, Inc., the leading provider of wireless, voice and alert extensions for enterprise applications, today announced an alliance with Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSE: RIM) to provide mobile access to enterprise applications using BlackBerry™ handhelds. By providing real-time access to enterprise information, this offering helps improve the quality and velocity of communication among mobile employees and customers in the enterprise.
Xora's robust enterprise application connectors for wireless handhelds are already available in the connected mode on BlackBerry 957™and BlackBerry 950™ handhelds. The same Xora enterprise application connectors will also now be available on RIM's new J2ME ™ - (Java 2 ™ Micro Edition) based BlackBerry 5800 series handhelds.
"BlackBerry is widely adopted in the corporate world and has set the bar for receiving corporate email anytime, anywhere. As corporations continue to see the advantages of higher productivity through mobility, the need to extend access from e-mail to also accessing enterprise application data on mobile devices becomes more imperative," said Peter Tsou, vice president of business development and alliances for Xora.
"Xora's pre-built mobility connectors for enterprise applications such as Siebel, Clarify, SAP and others, provide mobile workers greater efficiency and productivity with real-time and offline information access on their BlackBerry handhelds. Being the leader in J2ME applications for mobilizing enterprise data, we are very excited about RIM's support for J2ME.
