Onset Offers Print-Anywhere Module for BlackBerry Handheld Users

New METAmessage Module Gives BlackBerry Users the Power to Print to Any Network Printer or Fax Machine; Lets Users Search for Printers

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Onset Technology has announced the release of mPrint, a user-based printing tool for its METAmessage® for Wireless enterprise software. The new module gives BlackBerry™ users the ability to print documents, messages, and Web pages to any network printer or fax machine.

"Convenience is the key to success for wireless users," said Stewart Fox, vice president of marketing and sales for Onset. "mPrint is ready to go- it doesn't require any special configuration of printers or printer lists by the network administrator. Instead, it lets users search for any shared printer on the network, then print to wherever they want-just like they do from their desktop. That is a tremendous convenience for BlackBerry users."

Unlike other print tools for handhelds, mPrint does not require an administrator-supplied list of printers and does not require users to enter a specific path and printer name. Instead, it lets users search by browsing all shared printers on the network. In addition, when users are away from the office, they can print to any convenient fax machine by simply entering the fax number.

Other unique features of mPrint include support for both Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes and the ability to print Web pages. It supports all popular file formats including Microsoft Office, .html, and image formats. And,mPrint does not require a dedicated server.

All mPrint functionality is also available in the feature-rich METAmessage for Wireless AttachmentsPlus™ module. AttachmentsPlus lets users read email attachments and Web pages; view Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint slides with their original format intact; access and navigate the Web without a browser; and get contact information from Exchange global address lists (GAL) and Notes address books. The GetFile™ module provides access to network files, RemoteLock™ secures handhelds in case of loss or theft, and GetData™ connects to corporate information systems such as database servers, Web services, and document management applications such as iManage™. The mPrint module is available starting at $35 per user. The AttachmentPlus module is available starting at $50 per user. METAmessage license prices are one-time costs, with no annual renewal fees.
