Advanced Technologies Support Group (ATSG) Introduces Construction Quality Manager™ (CQM) for the BlackBerry® Wireless Platform, Enabling Construction Supervisors to Communicate More Efficiently and Effectively With Subcontractors and Suppliers
Field Supervisors Process Vital Information Faster, More Consistently, and With Increased Accuracy
Wireless Enterprise Symposium – Chicago, IL - ATSG, a full-service BlackBerry® systems integrator, today announced the availability of its Construction Quality Manager™ (CQM) application to field construction managers using the BlackBerry wireless platform from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) and Flowfinity Solutions Platform from Flowfinity Wireless Inc. With CQM, construction companies can speed the communication of defects and schedule requirements to subcontractors, reducing resolution time and increasing product quality.
CQM enables supervisors to capture defects as they inspect. Using menus on the BlackBerry handheld, information is organized by lot, construction phase, room, contractor, and defect. Leveraging the BlackBerry wireless platform, subcontractors are notified wirelessly by email, fax or phone. Data is available for subcontractor management, reporting, and quality improvement analysis. CQM makes users more productive by eliminating paper notes, repetitive data entry, and over-reliance on phone communication with subs. The standard BlackBerry applications - wireless email, phone, web browser and organizer - add further to user productivity.
"Like most businesses today, builders are looking for a competitive advantage," said John Heinz, President of ATSG. "CQM and BlackBerry enable adopters to increase the efficiency of key field employees, reduce construction time, hold subcontractors and suppliers to high standards, and deliver improved quality to customers. That is an impressive return."
The BlackBerry wireless platform is designed to support custom and commercial data applications that go beyond email to address the needs of specific vertical markets and further enhance the return on investment for our customers," said Mark Guibert, Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Research In Motion. "CQM is a good example that allows construction companies using BlackBerry to improve customer service and productivity by providing access to defect and scheduling information while in the field."
ATSG is demonstrating CQM at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium conference in Chicago from May 18-19, 2004 in booth #135.
