Diversinet and Outercurve Team to Secure Enterprise Applications for BlackBerry®

Outercurve's InfoEdge On-Demand Wireless Application Delivery Service Leverages Diversinet's Passport Trust Platform™ to Enable Certificate-Based Access to High-Value Content

Wireless Enterprise Symposium, Chicago, IL - Diversinet Corp. (OTCBB: DVNTF), a leading provider of secure mobile solutions, and Outercurve Technologies, a leading provider of wireless handheld business solutions, today announced a technology and marketing agreement. Under the terms of this agreement, Outercurve has licensed and will integrate Diversinet's Passport Trust Platform™, a public key security technology, into its InfoEdge On-Demand™ information delivery architecture for the BlackBerry® wireless platform from Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ:RIMM; TSX:RIM). Outercurve will also use Diversinet's secure application development tools to create a secure environment to support a variety of robust applications, such as wireless market data, document access, CRM, research notes and financial news.

Outercurve will use the security functionality provided by Diversinet's Passport Certificate Server™ and Passport Mobile Client™ to ensure that only authorized BlackBerry users can gain access to information delivered by its InfoEdge On-Demand service. Diversinet's secure application developer tools, including APIs to support digital certificate management on a variety of wireless devices, will enable applications designed for BlackBerry to leverage the Passport Trust Platform to protect customer data, validate user identity and support convenient over-the-air provisioning of user credentials.

"Outercurve is breaking new ground as the first developer of applications for BlackBerry that employ our Passport Trust Platform to enhance their product's security through digital certificates and PKI," said Nagy Moustafa, president and CEO of Diversinet. "They recognize that security requires specialized expertise, and that Diversinet is a leader in providing advanced end-to-end security for wireless handhelds like BlackBerry."

"Our relationship with Diversinet will extend Outercurve's ability to offer secure business intelligence solutions to our enterprise customers in target segments, including the financial services industry," said Derek G. Roga, president and CEO of Outercurve Technologies. "Outercurve's mission is to partner with technology providers like Diversinet to provide our customers with peace of mind when using business applications on their wireless handheld devices, enhancing the value proposition of our solutions."

"We are pleased that Diversinet and Outercurve are working together to develop new applications that leverage and extend the inherent security capabilities of the BlackBerry wireless platform," said David Yach, senior vice president of software at Research In Motion. "The Passport Trust Platform/InfoEdge On-Demand solution and BlackBerry will provide customers with PKI-based wireless access to a variety of corporate data applications."

Outercurve's InfoEdge On-Demand service enables companies deploying BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ to establish a competitive advantage in their particular business sector by extending critical decision-making capabilities to BlackBerry users. The secure and scalable wireless information delivery architecture integrates seamlessly with the existing Mobile Data Service feature of BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Server-side software components are easily implemented and require no initial up-front investment in software or technology, enabling BlackBerry users to access a portfolio of subscription-based ASP or enterprise wireless application packages.

The Passport Certificate Server allows the deployment of secure applications such as e-mail, payments, gaming transactions, high-value content delivery and software management to any mobile device, including mobile phones, PDAs and other embedded devices. Passport Certificate Server enables application providers, enterprises, and operators with a single security infrastructure solution for all mobile devices, providing reduced development time and cost associated with multiple device integration and testing. Diversinet's Passport Mobile Client software provides true end-to-end security, including certificate-based authentication, encryption and digital signatures.
