Madrid, Spain-
Vodafone Spain launches the BlackBerry® Professional Software solution that enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to mobilise email, applications and the Internet. As an introductory offer, Vodafone provides the first two months of fees for the BlackBerry service and the license fees for up to 30 users for free if they sign up before 31st January 2008*.

BlackBerry Professional Software is the new wireless communications and collaboration solution that tightly integrates with industry leading email servers and is specifically designed and priced to meet the needs of SMEs. BlackBerry Professional Software is based on the core functionality of the best-in-class BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software used by governments and large organizations worldwide, but it is streamlined and tailored to meet the needs of smaller organizations with up to 30 wireless users.

BlackBerry Professional Software allows SMEs to improve their communications and collaboration with a corporate-style mobility solution, enabling simple mobile access to email, on-line calendars, Internet and Intranet applications with advanced security features. At the same time, it is affordably priced, easy to install and requires minimal ongoing support.

The main features and benefits of BlackBerry Professional Software are:
-  Low IT impact: It is installed on the same server alongside an email system, allowing users an immediate cost saving as it requires no additional hardware or operating system licenses.
-  Support for the main email systems: It provides close integration with Microsoft® Exchange and IBM® Lotus® Domino® making it completely complimentary with synchronized mobile services, including access to electronic mail, online calendars, contacts, notes and to-do lists.
-  Ease of installation: The Pre-installation Wizard application performs a technical assessment of the system and recommends specific settings to facilitate and speed up the installation process with few requirements, if any, to determine the set-up parameters.
-  Straightforward management: The simplified BlackBerry(R) Manager interface is the single point of entry from which to carry out most management tasks. Wizards and shortcuts let users personalize the most common functions easily, such as adding or removing a user. In addition, with the pre-defined IT policies, these are very easy to install.
-  Advanced Security: This software uses the same certified security architecture and encryption system as the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, trusted by more organizations in the world than any other mobile solution.
-  Support for BlackBerry® MDS (Mobile Data System): Offering clients the opportunity to extend their in-house applications to employees on the road, using any of the thousands of third-party applications developed for the BlackBerry platform.

*Note to the editor: For every 5 new BlackBerry service activations Vodafone will reward its clients with loyalty points, allowing them to get a BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8100 smartphone for free.
