CDMA2000® 1X Ev-DO Networks
CDMA2000 1X networks allow you to maintain a virtual connection to the wireless network for data services. These networks support high-speed data services, are designed for wide-area data communication and offer high quality mobile voice services. Support for Ev-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) on some devices allows for even faster browsing and attachment viewing speeds, as well as tethered modem capability. Ev-DO can reach burst rates of up to 2.4 Mbps. CDMA2000 1X Ev-DO networks are operated by Sprint and Verizon Wireless in the United States and Bell Mobility and TELUS in Canada.

CDMA2000 1X networks enable "always-on" operation and allow you to maintain a virtual connection to the wireless network for data services. These networks support high-speed data services, are designed for wide-area data communication and offer high quality mobile voice services. CDMA2000 1X networks are operated by Verizon Wireless in the United States, and Bell Mobility and TELUS in Canada.
DataTAC© Network
DataTAC is a packet-switched, narrowband PCS network designed for wide-area wireless data communication. It delivers extensive coverage and in-building penetration, seamless roaming, fast messaging, high reliability and advanced messaging services. DataTAC networks are operated by Motient Corporation in the United States and Bell Mobility in Canada.
GSM/GPRS/EDGE Networks
GSM™/GPRS/EDGE networks allow you to maintain a virtual connection to the wireless network for data services. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution) are packet switched networks, designed for wide-area data communication and GSM offers high quality mobile voice services. GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks are operated by Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile in the United States, and by Rogers™ Wireless in Canada.
Mike Network
The Mike™ Network uses a packet-based platform, the integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN™) technology. This all-digital technology is designed to provide high quality sound and transmission nationwide. The Mike Network is operated by TELUS in Canada.
Mobitex Network
Mobitex is a packet-switched, narrowband PCS network, designed for wide-area wireless data communications. It delivers extensive coverage and in-building penetration, seamless roaming, fast messaging, high reliability and advanced messaging services. Mobitex networks are operated by service providers such as Velocita Wireless in the United States and Rogers Wireless in Canada.
Nextel® Network
Nextel uses a packet-based platform, the integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN®) technology. This all-digital technology is designed to provide high quality sound and transmission nationwide. The Nextel network is operated by Nextel Communications, Inc. in the United States.
